Ben Schneider
"I like it, I know its helping people and it feels good." Although the answer was short, simple, and to the point it speaks volumes about our newest addition to Volunteer Spotlight, Ben Schneider. A recent graduate of Red Lion Christian School, he has been spending his summer volunteering every day at the food bank. Never shying away from any task, he often requests to stay extra time, and comes in for almost every event we hold. He has in many ways taught us as much, if not more then we have taught him. He has become one of the family. He is often the first volunteer in the door, and the last to leave. He has on multiple occassions brought both of his parents in to volunteer, which has been a tremendous help. He celebrates birthdays with our staff, and greets us with a smile every day to start work. He has recently taken on a night shift warehouse job at Fedex, and still, every morning, bright and early, Ben is here and ready to go. Looking to the future he hopes to attend the Commonwealth Technical Institute. We know that if he puts half as much effort into his studies as he has in helping others at the York County Food Bank, then he is most certainly destined to succeed, and indeed, flourish in whatever career path he may choose. It is for these reasons that Ben Schneider is in our Volunteer Spotlight.
