FAQ for the SHARE Program

The SHARE Program is the newest program the York County Food Bank is engaging in. Because it is new, we wanted to answer some questions you may have, so you can better understand how we can help!

What is the SHARE Program?

The SHARE Program  allows families to be able to purchase nutriouts, quality food at a discounted rate, up to 50%.

Are there any qualifications to participate?

There are no minimum or maximum income requirements, if you eat you qualify. Two hours of community service per package purchased are required.

What counts as volunteerism?

Anything that helps someone else. You can volunteer at your favorite nonprofit agency, help out around your church, tutor at a local school, or just help your neighbors. You can volunteer at the York County Food Bank, both during normal hours or for special events (food shows, Senior Boxes, and SHARE Distribution Day)

What is the cost of the package?

The packages range from $10-$20, allowing you to choose the package that works best for you. There is a $1 delivery charged attached to each package. Orders must be paid for at time of purchase.

What happens if items are missing from your package?

Be sure to list it on your order form for the next month. It will be taken care of with your next purchase. Products are limited by availability. There are no refunds.

Will the York County Food Bank deliver to individual families?

The York County Food Bank will not deliver to individual families. However, if there is difficulty in picking up your purchases, you are certainly able to send someone in your place to pick it up for you. Just make sure they have your copy of the order form so that we can verify that you are picking up for that person. If there is no order form, we cannot release the product. Packages that are not picked up by the end of the distribution day will be donated to the York County Food Bank.

Where can we get order forms?

Order forms can be found on our website on the SHARE Page, by visiting our offices during normal business hours, or by visiting one of our host sites. To find the host sites closest to you please visit our website.
