With internet ready phones beckoning to us, it seems like more and more people are spending time letting other people know what is going on in our lives. Our level of nonverbal communication has increased sharply since social networking sites have become so popular. Other then the ability to network and keep up to date with our friends, social networking sites often offer special incentives to join, through the site itself or through businesses who have space on the website. To better connect with our volunteers and donors, we have decided to get into the Social Network scene. Check us out at:
Facebook: Get up to date information about what is going on at the food bank. View pictures from all of our events and local food drives, or post your own! Let us know what you like about us, or what we could do differently. Find out who you can talk to if you want more information about the York County Food Bank.
Twitter: Up to date information as to what is going on here at the food bank. Also extra information about the organizations that work with us, and special information (scholarships, local happenings, events)
Jumo: Taking the best of Facebook and Twitter, Jumo is your one stop shopping for Non-Profit groups. Find out more about the causes we devote ourselves to, and find out how you can get involved.
FourSquare: Going out for a night on the town? Check in when you get there. Volunteering in your community? Check in. Many businesses and organizations offer benefits of checking in. Who knows what you may find!
