The kids are on their way back to school, but its not just students who have to worry about math problems. For many local families their monthly budgets just don't add up, and neccesities are often too expensive, no matter the need. It is times like these that we must look to our community for help. No one person can make the needed change, but by working together, we have the ability to end food insecurity in York County.

The generous people at AWI understand that, and twice a year invite the food bank to pick up donations from their annual food show. Local and national vendors attend the show and donate the exibited products to the food bank to benefit those in need across York County. These donations include produce, meats, bread, frozen items, dairy, personal hygiene products, and much more. At the close of each day of the food show, the York County Food Bank staff is joined by groups of volunteers to pack everything up, load it on to trucks and bring it back to the food bank to be distributed to our distribution partners as quickly as possible. Our hope is that within days the bulk of the items donated have left the food bank to serve their purpose, easing food insecurities in local families.
