For the 12th year in a row, Curves franchises across the country encouraged women to show their philanthropic strength during the month of March by donating non-perishable food items and money to local food banks.
According to York County Food Bank Assistant Director Deb Eichelberger, “Curves members are always very generous to the Food Bank. They give and they give generously. We receive thousands of pounds of food from Curves during March.”
The goal, explained on Curves’ website, is for the community to come together to help families in need according to Curves Founder Diane Heavin.
This year, Curves Loucks Road and Curves White Street collected 4,905 pounds of food and $180 in donations for the York County Food Bank.
Adds Eichelberger, “This food drive really demonstrates the power of women working together to support the community and we are very grateful.”
