Dollar General - promoting a spirit of involvement
72,000 employees and millions of customers collect food across the nation

Clark Miller, Regional Director for Dollar General, knows that 49 million Americans go hungry every day and that 16.7 million of them are children. "Collecting food is a nation-wide effort for Dollar General," explains Miller, "our mission is to serve others, to have a lasting impact on individuals and families."
Literacy is another area of intense interest for Dollar General. Each year the company helps thousands of individuals take their first steps toward literacy, a general education diploma or English proficiency.
There are 8,400 Dollar General stores across 35 states and 9 in the York community, and all of them are collecting food. "York County Food Bank is the grateful recipient of the food that Dollar General collects. We are honored to partner with them to feed York County's hungry."
