Agencies at York County Annex Building collect food

USDA employees, farmers and friends, realizing that children and families are in great need of donated food this summer, joined together to combat hunger by collecting food at USDA offices throughout the country. The government’s goal was to collect 1.2 million pounds of food nationwide from June 23 through August 31, and employees of the York County Annex on Pleasant Acres Road stepped up to the plate by donating 225 pounds of nutritious food and assorted personal care items.
Richard Csutoras, USDA Farm Service Agency County Executive Director, explains “There are hungry people all over our county, all over our country. We wanted to get involved in this food drive and we invited employees in all of the offices here at the Annex to participate.”
