Young people collect for hungry at home and abroad

By Hollie Walkley

If you see a group of young people distributing flyers door-to-door in the Glen Rock area this weekend, please stop to thank them. They are members of the Glenview Christian Missionary Alliance Church and they are on a mission to feed hungry people.

Pastor Chris encourages the young people in his youth ministry to look beyond themselves to think and care for others. They are participating in a global effort to combat hunger by fasting for 30 hours and by donating money to Grain of Hope.

However, these young people under Pastor Chris' guidance aren't willing to stop there. "I want them to know that there are people right here, in their neighborhoods, who are hungry and who need their help too," explained Pastor Chris. "They are going door-to-door this weekend to distribute flyers that explain their project and then they will go back to those same houses next weekend to collect food for the Food Bank."

Thank you Pastor Chris. And, please pass our appreciation along to your youth group... let them know that there are hundreds of people in York County who are hungry and who would thank them if they could.

Thank you for your support!
