Local branch delivers check

Bryant Cummings, Branch Manager of W. W. Grainger, Inc. on Vogelsong Road in York, and his staff make it a habit to give back to the community. On April 15 they showed their commitment to York County when Cummings visited York County Food Bank to deliver $10,000 from the Grainger Foundation. "I know how important food banks are to a community," said Cummings while touring the warehouse floor with Executive Director Jon Fisher.
Fisher explained, "One of the Food Bank's pressing needs is sturdy, clean boxes that we can use for food drives and for our special distributions - the CSFP senior box program and TEFAP boxes. The proper boxes are difficult to find used, and they are expensive to buy new."
York County Food Bank will use Grainger's gift to have boxes manufactured to the correct specification. "They will say, 'Boxes courtesy of W. W. Grainger,'" said Hollie Walkley, Resource Development Coordinator, "and we are tremendously grateful!"
