The York County Food Bank Turns 29

By Jeremy Swiger
The York County Food Bank will be celebrating it's 29th birthday. On March 2, 1983 our founder, Fred Fisher, open the doors to our very first location in the basement of the Salvation Army. We have come a long way from our meager beginnings, but our mission has never waivered. We still work every day to feed anyone in need in York County, and have succeeded in feeding 20,000 families last year. At this time of year we count our blessing for the privilege of being able to help so many people with the help and commitment of a community that continues to stand behind us. Because of that commitment we want to hear from you. As we prepare to celebrate our birthday, we would like you to send in your stories of the York County Food Bank. We know we have been a part of a lot of people's lives, and we want to hear about it! Send your story to jeremys@yorkfoodbank.org or post them on our Facebook wall. We are proud to live and work in this community, and we would like to thank you for everything you do to keep us as a cornerstone in the community.
