True to their promise, the Glenview Alliance Church Youth Group, Ignite Student Ministries, spread out into their neighborhood last weekend to talk with people and to collect food. This local food drive is only one part of their efforts to help others. They also act globally through Grain of Hope.
"They had great fun and were really excited," said Parishioner Sandy Stein. "And, while they were going door-to-door collecting food, they spoke with a man who said that he used to volunteer for the Food Bank. He told them that unfortunately now he needed food himself."
Add two more boxes of food to the 1,600 pounds the Youth Group delivered to the Food Bank. Stein explained, "They went back and left two boxes of food on that man's porch. What a great group of young people."
Indeed!
