March has been a busy month for the York County Food Bank. As we reach the halfway point in the month, it's time to take a look at what we've accomplished, and what is coming up!
York Property Management Group has been running a food drive all month, and we've received great feedback from them. The will be holding a Mixer event sponsored by the Left Bank Restaurant and Bar on March 30th from 5-8 PM. Non-perishable food and monetary donations will be accepted. Everyone that donates that night will be entered into a drawing to win a $100 gift certificate to the Left Bank! Everyone is welcome to come out and enjoy the fun. There will be appetizer and drink specials.
Hoss's Steakhouse is also working with us holding a food drive. You can visit the Hanover, East York, and West York and make a non-perishable food donation to receive a FREE cup of soup. Give a little and get a little, what a fantastic idea from the folks at Hoss's.
Conductive Technologies has also been busy. They are holding a food drive at their offices, offering prizes to employees that donate each day. They are even holding theme days with new prizes each day! That should get those donations 'marching' in the door. Sorry for the terrible pun...
The AWI Food show is almost upon us. They have kindly agreed to donate the showcased products from that event to the York County Food Bank. This is a two day event running on March 22nd and 23rd, starting at 3:30 PM at the York Fairgrounds. We are still looking for volunteers for the 23rd. If you are interested in volunteering, or would like more information you can email jeremys@yorkfoodbank.org.
Last, but certainly not least, we would like to offer a sincere thank you to everyone at Grainger. In their continued efforts to fight hunger in York County they have donated $10,000 for the purchase of food to feed those in need. We would like to thank them both for their continued generosity, and their constant effort to make the community they live and work in a better place.
