New Volunteer Opportunities
Giving Back Outside of the 9-5

Many of our volunteers have noted a recurring problem, they want to get more involved in our community, but they work a nine to five job. With many non-profit organizations working on the same schedule, volunteer opportunities are often limited. We recognize that hunger isn't a nine to five, Monday through Friday problem. It is for that reason that we have opened up further volunteer opportunities outside of normal business hours.
The most popular of these happens on one Saturday a month. On that particular Saturday we pack 696 senior boxes each month. This would certainly not be possible without the help of a great group of volunteers. We look for about twenty volunteers to help us with packing these boxes. For more information about getting involved look at the Senior Box listing under "Events."

Our newest volunteer opportunity is for evenings during the week. We want to get more involved in the community, and get more volunteers to help with event planning and outreach. We are constantly striving to keep everything we do locally produced and benefitting residents of our county. We recognize that with the kids out of school and amongst busy schedules that time is limited. We are looking for volunteers to give up an hour or hour and a half, one time a week, to help us plan larger events, and increase awareness of the York County Food Bank, and it's mission within our county. If you would like to get involved, or just receive more information about this new volunteer opportunity, you can send an email to jeremys@yorkfoodbank.org.
