The York County Food Bank is open for food and turkey donations 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12 and 19.
These donations also can be dropped off 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, at 254 W. Princess St. Turkey coupons and gift cards from local grocery stores also will be accepted. The food bank needs about 1,800 turkeys. The delay in approving a state budget has cost the organization about $85,000, with no reimbursement in sight, according to a food bank news release.
The food bank gathers and distributes about 3 million pounds of food annually to more than 165 agencies and food pantries. For more information, call 846-6435, Ext. 101.
