Wouldn't it be great to actually get something for the hours you spend online? After all, it seems that everything has us surfing the world wide web every day, whether it be our jobs, checking email, keeping up with friends, or shopping. It seems like everyone has at least one computer at home, if not more, and most cellphones anymore are connected to the internet. If only we were able to harness that power to help our communities. After all, there is only so many hours in the day, and although we all want to do our part to make the world a better place, sometimes time just doesn't seem to permit it.
The answer to this on going problem has arrived, and it's user friendly! The site is GoodSearch (www.goodsearch.com) They have teamed up with the York County Food Bank to donate just for doing what you already do. Checking what's on TV tonight? You just donated to the food bank! Looking for a great new recipe that even the kids will like? You just donated to the food bank! Not only will every search you do using their search engine get you the answers you are looking for (since the search engine is powered by Yahoo!) it will also donate money to the charity of your choice. Plug in the York County Food Bank in the charity section, and presto, your surfing skills help feed York County. Want to do more? The site also offers the ability to shop through a variety of your favorite venders to get exactly what you are looking for, and a portion of your purchase goes to the food bank. You pay the same great online prices, but you also help those in need across York County. It's a win-win situation!
