2004 Event

A Day to ‘Ride for Hungersm’ in York County

The York County Food Bank, Inc. is proud to present their 4th annual Ride For Hunger event, on Saturday, June 12, 2004. The ride will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the Food Bank, which is located at 254 West Princess Street, York, PA 17404. More than 300 riders are expected to participate in the event this year. Ride For Hunger is open to all motorcyclists with a street legal bike. Riders will leave the Food Bank at 11:00 a.m. and are expected to arrive around 12:30 p.m. at MaizeQuest® (Maple Lawn Farms), which is situated at 2885 New Park Rd in New Park, PA 17352. This year the event has grown and will host a Bike Expo and a live band. The community is invited to join in a fun-filled day and help the York County Food Bank to Eliminate Hunger in York County.

The Expo was developed to provide an added venue to the Ride For Hunger for motorcycle enthusiasts so they may express their craftsmanship, and love of bikes. The show will allow both collectors and the general public to view the latest from local dealers, custom shops, suppliers, and service providers from all over York County. This new venue will also allow riders to enter a Bike Show, where trophies will be handed out to the winners in each of the following categories: Vintage, Street Performance, Full Custom, and Stock Bikes. During the event, live music will be performed by York County’s own “Sierra's Mantra Band”.

In addition to the Bike Expo and many other new activities planned into this year’s event, a Packet Return Party for riders will take place on Saturday, June 5, 2004 at Laugerman’s Harley-Davidson on Route 30. The party will kick off at 9 a.m. and last until 3 p.m. During the event riders will turn in their rider packet forms and be eligible for Rider Incentive Awards.
